Exit Requirements

All visitors need to go through immigration clearance when they depart from Liberia. Do ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months before departure.

At the immigration counter, the visitor must present the Embarkment and  Disembarkment Card together with his travel document to the Immigration Officer.  The Immigration Officer will review the documentation together with a valid ticket and ask the relevant question and if there are no issues stamp your travel document allowing you to exit the country.

Visitors are advised to kindly check their passports/travel documents for the right stamps before they leave the immigration checkpoint.

Liberian residents are also required to leave the country with the proper passport/travel documents.  It must be noted that passports are issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all Liberian travelers must ensure that they have the right travel documentation as the LIS does not issue, but only validate documents to ensure exit.

*All forms for exit and entry are available at LIS counters at airports and border checkpoints.
